How to stop PVC’s (premature ventricular contractions)?

Q: Dear Dr. Mao,
I sometimes get PVCs that are disturbing to me, although a cardiologist diagnosed them as benign. Is there anything I can do to stop them?

A: In the allopathic medical view, PVCs are considered a benign condition of misfiring of the electrical circuitry of the heart, or SA/AV nodes. In the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) view, these conditions, summarily considered under palpitations, are often result of heart qi or blood deficiency.

If you have ruled out any serious conditions, I would suggest consulting a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist; there are several formulations and treatment modalities that might help.

You might also try out the following products from the Traditions of Tao web site: “Super Clarity” and “Heart”. Of course, discuss with your physician before beginning any new health regime.
