What is Parsley?
Parsley is a biennial herb that is common in Middle Eastern, European, and American cooking and is often used as a garnish. It is used to season fish, salads, soups, and sauces, and the essential oil extracted from the leaves can be used as a food flavoring. Parsley’s properties also make it useful for attracting insects in gardens, protecting other plants.

What are the health benefits of Parsley?
Parsley’s roots are most typically used for medicinal purposes, and the plant is used for its antidandruff, expectorant, digestive, and diuretic properties. It is used to support kidney function. Additonally, it is used as a tonic to strengthen the bladder, rid the body of stones and toxins via the urine, and treat irritable bladder syndrome. Parsley is thought to promote lactation in new mothers, treat bad breath, improve circulation for cold hands and feet, and control high blood pressure. When applied externally, parsley can be used to reduce the itching of mosquito bites.

Where can I find Parsley?

Parsley can be found online, as a fresh herb in supermarkets and grocery stores, in herbal specialty shops, and as a dietary supplement at health food stores. It may also be available fresh at outdoor markets.
