Preparation of mirabilite includes dissolving it in hot water, filtering it, and then putting the remainder in cold water to remove any impurities. Mirabilite is available in a variety of forms, including pills and powders. Powdered mirabilite can be mixed with hot water and applied to the skin as a type of poultice.
