What is Mirabilite?
Mirabilite is a mineral, hydrated sodium sulfate, which is found worldwide. It is abundant in the western and southwestern parts of the United States where it forms in salt lakes, springs, and arid regions. Preparation of mirabilite includes dissolving it in hot water, filtering it, and then putting the remainder in cold water to remove any impurities. Mirabilite is available in a variety of forms, including pills and powders. Powdered mirabilite can be mixed with hot water and applied to the skin as a type of poultice.

What are the health benefits of Mirabilite?
According to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, mirabilite is used to treat a variety of conditions, including constipation, sore throat, red eyes and mouth, and ulcers. It is also used externally to treat skin ulcers and to help heal wounds.

Are there any precautions for taking Mirabilite?

Menstruating, pregnant, or breastfeeding women should not take mirabilite. In addition, it should not be used in patients diagnosed with excess heat, spleen deficiency, or edema.
